Get Fit! Stay Fit!

There are so many easy and fun ways to get fit! You don’t have to be a star athlete to run three times a week for 20 minutes each time. Nor do you have to be an Olympic gymnast to be flexible or participate in a weekly yoga class. Dancing is another way to get fit, it’s inexpensive and a fun and creative way to socialize! If you like the outdoors, blade, ride a bike, hike and spend some time with nature while you’re at it! If you’re not partial to the outdoors, pack a bag and get to the gym where you can walk on a treadmill with a high incline or pedal a bike with major resistance. You’ll also get the opportunity to slip on your ipod and listen to some cool beats! You can also buy DVDs and books and mags that feature pre-made fitness routines. If you’re competitive and enjoy the rush of competing, sign up to play on a sports team such as volleyball, basketball, tennis or soccer. To get in shape, all it takes is a half hour everyday or a full hour 3 to 4 times a week … and the payback is huge! A stronger, more fit and toned body, a clear mind that is less stressed, tonnes more energy and better health overall! So don’t just think about it … get off your booty … and Get Fit! NOW!!

Walk whenever and wherever you can!  Make it brisk!

Wake up and perform a ten minute stretch or ten minutes of yoga.

Pop on your favourite CD and do five minutes of ab exercises, mix them up!

Climb those stairs instead of using the elevator!

Squeeze in 10 push ups whenever, wherever you can!

Jump rope, great cardio and fat burning!

Buy 5 pound dumbbells and create your own muscle conditioning routine to do every other day.

Grab your girlfriends and go dancing over the weekend!  Dress to kill!

Go for a swim!

Sign up for a 5K race.

Do martial arts.
